GXV Turtle almost ready to hatch ?

Looks like your delivery is 11 days shreds of ours. Congrats. After two years in our LMTV Patagonia from GXV we learned that the heating system is plenty robust and the thermal envelope is top notch but the floor temps hover around 45 degrees even if the overal interior temp is 75. We have...

    Expedition Vehicle selection thoughts?

We fell in love with Alaska and plan on spending 6 to 8 month a year here the rest of the time we are going to be traveling in Canada and the lower 48. So we needed a vehicle built around two seasons worth of gear vs four and that gets better fuel milage and is more fun to drive between the...

    Expedition Vehicle selection thoughts?

We chose the Ram 5500 over the F550 for several reasons. I think the 6.7 cummins is a better motor. I am not a fan of the 6.7 Powerstroke at all, however, I love the 7.3 Powerstroke and if Ford brought that motor back then the chassis choice would be simple. I have a 2003 F250 with the 7.3 motor...

    Expedition Vehicle selection thoughts?

It sounds like your needs would be well met by a GXV TURTLE. I had a GXV Patagonia built on an M1083 frame and loved the truck. Just sold it and waiting on delivery of my new GXV Turtle in December.

    Michelin, Goodyear or Continental

Any suggestions, personal experience with Michelin, Continental, Goodyear in 335/80R20 size. Specifically interested in Noise, traction and durability. I got an easy 50K on my Michelin 385/95 R20 but would like something a bit quieter. The new size is for my new GXV.

The GXV Pangea series is amazing. We considered it before settling on the standard cabin. But for those wishing more room it's a great option.

    Onboard washer/dryer... worth it?

We have a Splendide 110 washer dryer combo. It's fairly good sized as in we can fit 5 pairs of jeans. Works great and we love it. And the best part is we never have to stop in creepy laundromats and wate time. For pics of the set up see twoifoverland.com.

Your assumption is correct we came out of a sprinter built by OutsideVan in Portland Or. They IMHO are by far the best at sports oriented Sprinter build outs. It's hard to compare an M1083 to a highly insulted and sound proofed Sprinter. The M1083 compared to an International or a Freigliner is...
