Under chassis armor for Isuzu Trooper?

What have you all done to protect the transfer box that hangs underneath your Trooper? What about the oil sender/oil filter unit up front? Got any pics of custom made armor for your Trooper you can share? After running w/ some friends recently, I've found that a lot of potentially vulnerable...

    200,338 miles and counting

Over the weekend I was up at the foothills of the Sierras picking up my new set of slightly worn MTRs from a friend. My odometer clicked over to 200,000 miles. Quite an accomplishment from a vehicle that was leaking oil from the valve cover and numerous other holes. Regular oil changes and...

Torn between owning a kayak or a powered boat for fishing

Help please. I'm torn between buying a Native kayak or buying a used powered boat for my fishing trips. Need to be able to hit the open ocean and lakes, I can't decide. Kayak: Pros: quite, low cost, only have to feed me, low carbon footprint (but I've been told that I can really stink up...

Captian!! We have a coolant leak!!

Sigh. Sometimes when you start working on repairs your gut feeling says to leave it alone till have you all the parts. While, my Zoo developed a coolant leak in one of the coolant pipes going to the oil cooler. Well, smarty pants (me) decided to drain the water I had filled previously so I...

Built a roof rack for the Zoo.

Had about 100ft of 1.5" diameter .85" steel tubing that I was going to use to fab a full body roll cage, but eventually I changed my mind. So, some of the steel was used to make this. Had to fab a faring for the front, as the round tubing made a heck of a noise! -Matt

Go exploring for a weekend and come home to a painted garage floor?

So I went up to the Sierras over the weekend with some new friends, the local Xterra club here. I came home to a garage floor that was cleaned and painted with some nice garage floor paint! My father-in-law decided to paint my floor... :wings: Wow, I must of did something really good to...

My to do list is done.

Over the weekend I replaced my outer cv boots and added more suspension travel to the front, and tonight I added more clearance to the rear. First, replacing CV boots are a PITA. Each side took me about roughly 6 hours to do. The first side took the longest, as I wasn't quite sure which way...

    Replacing CV boot

Maybe because I'm new at replacing CV boot on this truck, but man what a pain. Anyways...I'll have pic of my last install posted so everyone can see how it's done the right way, without taking out the whole front axle, not that I did, but I sure came close to removing the whole front axle...
