    GatorDoc’s 3rd gen Cummins Dodge

Have you ever heard about regreasing the unit bearing hubs on these? I do mine every other oil change. Remove the brake rotor to access the abs sensor. Remove the sensor and pump grease in there while spinning the hub. I stop when I feel resistance when spinning the hub.

1986 Diesel Trooper Thoughts and ideas?

They are good trucks...not much power though. Early models had weak con rods and would break if over revved. Later ones had revised stronger con rods (One way to find out is if the truck has a oil breather separator tank located under the hood near the passenger side). Be sure to put a EGT gauge...

    How is the 2.5L diesel?

I have the NA 2.5 from a defender in my Series IIa. It's slow and not much power but it get's the job done....It's very simple to work on. Changed the timing belt in about 2 hours with the basic tools. The only thing I don't like about this engine is that it uses a timing belt. I wish it was...

Series 3 owner! and a few questions

I looked at the front hubs of my IIa and they do in fact have the little plugs on the hub for the oil fill. What confuses me is that I looked in my Haynes Land Rover manual and they don't say anything about using oil, but they used grease to repack the bearings. is there a way I can find out? It...

Broken clutch on my '66 Series 2a diesel?

Thank you everybody for your help! It was much appreciated! I took the tunnel cover off, and yes I did find one of the two pins were sheared (the one closer to the clutch). I'm so glad that Land Rover didn't place those pins inside the clutch housing! It was quite a pain to replace the broken...
