2004 2WD Chevy Tahoe, what are my options.

No not everything transfers from a 2wd to 4wd. He was talking about a lift for the 2wd. In case you arent aware (obviously you dont) a 2wd suspension is different than the 4wd. Not to mention he already stated he was planning to buy a 4wd. So why throw money away on something hes not planning to...

2004 2WD Chevy Tahoe, what are my options.

Why would you even consider spending $2600 on trying to make a 2004 2wd slightly offroad capable? You can buy a decent 4wd gmt400 or 800 tahoe for that or maybe a little more for a really nice one. Hell take the $2600 sell your 04 2wd and buy a really nice 4wd. Spending $2600 on your 2wd while...

Best Weld Through Bumper Clevis Mount for 9,000 lbs + Truck?

Again what youre mounting it to is going to be the limiting factor. 96 f350 frame is what 3/16" steel? Again with any of those clevis's youll bend whatever its attached to before youll bend even the lighter duty one. With them only being roughly 6 inches long and sticking out through the bumper...

Best Weld Through Bumper Clevis Mount for 9,000 lbs + Truck?

The bigger limiting factor is going to be the bumper unless where youre mounting it to is 1/2" steel. The bumper is going to bend or deform before the clevis will.

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

How else would the rest of the world know they own one unless they tell the rest of the world every freeking time they can?

2010 Tahoe Build Now with Solar

You do NOT need to have the front wheels moving to engage 4hi or 4lo. In the newer IFS GM 4wd systems the front hubs are always locked. The front wheels are seperated from the front driveshaft in the differential not in the hub. The wheel, hubs, and axle shafts are always engaged. When 4wd is...

    02 gen3 AC issues.

I checked it with a guage on the low pressure side. Of course the compressor didnt kick on so Im not sure. My concern with that was if they had depressurized the system when working on it. Thank you I will. It was in december I doubt they will do anything about it. I will give them a call...

    02 gen3 AC issues.

My gen3 monty shredded a timing belt this winter and I had to have a shop do the work. It doesnt get run much right now with the move and new baby so I didnt notice till now that the AC isnt working. Apparently the defrost uses it is as well because when you turn it to defrost the AC light...

    Suburban/Tahoe(and GMC) pic/build thread

Yes. It will be a direct bolt in. I did measurements in my LJY when looking at switching my 01s bench for a newer seats with the LATCH system for baby seats. Bench, buckets whatever the body mounts are all the same front and rear. The actual brackets are seat specific so make sure you unmount...

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

Why is it whenever I see the word "overlanding" I picture some skinny jean wearing, bad IPA swilling, twisted mustache, round glasses, flannel wearing, Wheres Waldo looking ************? If you want to get technical everytime you drive anywhere in anything you are "overlanding". You are driving over...

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

I dont know, I have literally abused my k2500 pickup and its still running strong at 300k. I mean abused, I bought it with a few thousand miles on it pretty much new. Since then 20k mile oil changes were not uncommon with whatever oil was on sale, I cant even think of the last time I changed...

GMT-800 2500 Upper Control Arm frame mounts spreading apart?

You need to measure the width of the part of the control arm that houses the bushing, not the bushing but the metal. The new ones look wider than the stock arms. I would be very leary about a manufacturer giving me **************** excuses about "those older HDs being inconsistent". First the 2500...

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

Truth be told in the US far more full size domestics are used for offroading and camping as are land rovers or range rovers or whatever other foreign truck. The disparity come from having a rig that is already capable without having all these bling bling look at me "modifications" that is so...
