I have a white one, but have been in a black one to compare on the same day. A temperature gauge may have indicated a slight difference, but I could not tell myself. As previously stated, the darker colors fade/scratch fairly early/easily.

Why would you prefer a 6 1/2 foot awning over an 8 1/2 foot one? I was afraid the 270cm (8 1/2') would be too short, but it's actually just right for me.

I just picked up my standard awning today. It's small enough when mounted beneath my rack to remain out of the way so you can use the tent alone with the awning folded. I would imagine that you could arrange the Falcon 270 so that you could keep it folded and still be able to use the ladder...

Cool looking awning. I don't understand why it's driver's side only though. Seems like most people put their awnings on the passenger side.

I've got a new Evasion. I could see why a well used maggie would not have cracks as most of them are raised/lowered by the crank. I have not tried to close one of their budget tents that have struts like the JBs, so I can't personally say how hard they are to close. I can say that my JB's...
