Truck box drawers 48"x72"x14" in Alberta

Calgary, Alberta area. $600CAD 4 drawer setup with 2 tall and 2 shallow drawers. Super solid handles. Was built and used as a toolbox but could be very useful for an expedition truck. Removable dividers for all drawers and a sliding tray for one of the deep drawers. Sold my truck so can't use...

    Smittybilt Overland XL RTT-New product.

I added a 4" topper but there was no way I was getting it closed so I removed the factory mattress. Unfortunately haven't been out yet this year to try it but laying on both on the floor was a huge difference. I'll likely sell my factory mattress, 2 of those would fit and probably be a big...

Questions for the Suburban/Yukon XL owners out there...

Sounds to me like you should be shopping for a 1500 while keeping an eye open for a sweet deal on a 2500 [emoji41] Good luck to ya! Sent from my LG-H873 using Tapatalk

Questions for the Suburban/Yukon XL owners out there...

I guess you just need to be honest and realistic with yourself and your expectations. Bigger and stronger parts are better for off-roading and it becomes more evident the more weight you add and the rougher the off roading. I think we can all agree (without any stating of brands or models or...

    Kelso's 2004 2500 Suburban build and adventures

Lower tax bills than expected plus a crap-ton of overtime last shift equals new tires on the 'burb! Hopefully I can get them out on dirt soon, not just a sand pile in a parking lot ;) Sent from my LG-H873 using Tapatalk

The factory crossbars on my GMT800 Suburban were too flimsy for my liking. Maybe fine on the highway but consider the rough roads you will likely be bouncing down... I mounted mine to 3 Thule square bars and personally wouldn't recommend anything less. Sent from my LG-H873 using Tapatalk

    Relieve my ignorance

They do take more time and effort than many people realize (myself included) before buying one. You get better with practice but setting up and, more specifically, packing it away solo can be a chore if you can't reach from the ground. I have a large one for the family and if I was going out...

Advice Needed:: To keep the Taco or not. Terrible economy.

Had this debate myself recently with my older 6.0 v8 chevy. Thought about downsizing for economy or buying a beater car. The added insurance will likely cancel out any fuel savings so any money you spend on the car would just be a loss. As for replacing the truck, you are comparing your...

Key piece of gear for Bear Country.

Yes. HAVING bear spray means nothing. Knowing how to use it and having it IMMEDIATELY ACCESSIBLE is crucial. People actually spray themselves or around their camp like it's a repellant! Tough way to learn! Bells are both useless and annoying. They need to know a HUMAN is approaching, so talk...

    Kelso's 2004 2500 Suburban build and adventures

So we picked up a king sized 4" matress topper for pretty cheap. It is too wide and too short for the 6' x 8' floor space of our tent but I trimmed a few inches to fit the 6' width and added that strip to the length. It is MUCH more supportive than the original mattress, which you could just...

    Kelso's 2004 2500 Suburban build and adventures

We'll we've been up into above freezing temps a good amount last month so figured we'd go camping for Easter again. Turns out mother nature had other plans and temps dropped to -10 to -15C with more snow all weekend! DANG! It's been a relentless winter here! Still got a few winter camping nights...

People think pulleys increase pulling power.

You guys are missing the point here. MOguy has done his experiment and proved he is right, thereby disproving fundamental physics. We should be honored to be discussing the upcoming physics curriculum changes here. Sent from my LG-H873 using Tapatalk

    Van vs. Truck Camper

LWB, high roof Delica. If going camper route you will no doubt be going with a solid camper for winter use so definitely go 3/4 or 1 ton. HD gas engine pickups depreciate fast so you should be able to find something very reliable if you don't spend too much on a camper. Campers can be...

Options for an overland dog mushing vehicle?

Seen a few dedicated cab and chassis type setups around here but I think that might be overkill for 6. I believe those trucks had 6 or 8 dogs per side. An SUV will be tight and expensive. Get a box truck or a good old 3/4 ton van with good tires instead of the transit. Sent from my LG-H873...

    Smittybilt Overland XL RTT-New product.

If you put 2 bars right on the edges then you will have a lot of weight in the space between bars. Think about where the weight will be with people (2,3,4?) up in the tent. I don't recall exactly but I probably have 6-8" overhang on the two outside bars. Maybe it doesn't make any difference...

    Vehicle advice

Maybe I missed it, but never saw any sort of budget, age or mileage requirements. I have a fully loaded 3/4 ton Suburban (2004) which I picked up for just a little over half the price the 1st gen Sequoia's are selling for around here with even more mileage. 2nd gen Sequoia's are much more...
