    FUSO Bypass oil filter

I own a FUSO FG with an IVECO 4P10 engine and my next project is to fit a bypass oil filter system. Have any of you done this and if so where did you tap in to get pressure and return? Happy Trails, Glenn C.

On the fence about my Fuso

The practice of using "dynamat" to change the resonance frequency and stop the empty trash can effect in the cab is well proven. The noise that is most intrusive in our FUSO cabs is the cooling fan, when it comes on at 3000rpm or above it is a real conversation stopper! To mitigate that noise...

Ready to make larger committment, seeking ideas

I run at about 12,500 lbs with all tanks full (water, diesel and DEF), full food clothing and supplies, fridge and freezer stocked. I have weighed my rig 3 times at 3 different packing levels to see what the weight distribution is at those loads. I average 7,100 on the rear and 5,400 on the...

Ready to make larger committment, seeking ideas

The Earthcruiser is a Great platform. I picked mine up 11/17 and have 35,000 miles on it and it has never let me down on the trail, the FUSO chassis is strong (and my rig full of all fluids and packed for a trip is a full ton under GVW/GVM, an important factor) and once you understand the...

    BigSek 2003 G500 Build Thread

I have run the KO2's on my FUSO Earthcruiser here in CO for 2 winters and they are outstanding in the snow, we go over the I70 passes almost every week to ski. Last weekend (6/2) I was doing some FS roads in Wyoming and ran into areas with up to 2' of snow and no problems. I am closely...

New FG Owner with Newbie Questions

My contact patch with my BFG TA KO2s is about perfect with full load and those pressures and the fact that I have 27,000 miles on them and they are at about 50% tread life confirms that those pressures work well. Glenn C.

Newer FUSO FG's - driven at altitude

As for DPF re-gen at altitude, I run a 2017 FG Earthcruiser here in Colorado. I live at 5300' and regularly (weekly) travel to the mountains, passes at 10-11,000' and through valleys at 8-9,000' and have had no issues with re-gen at these altitudes, being in the US I only run ULSD. Glenn C.

Loud radiator fan on 2017 Fuso

Yes......the cooling fan is a real conversation stopper when it comes on above 3000rpm's. I have improved on that and it is a boatload of work, here is what I have done. So I have completed my cab noise control project for now with truly pleasant results. First I ordered some 1/2" 4lb noise...

New FG Owner with Newbie Questions

Do check with FUSO for recalls, they are doing an extensive fuel system recall on (I think) pre 2016 trucks. Also check for any leaking seals and get those attended to before you run out of warranty. Tire pressures, (I run BFG TA KO2s) on pavement I run 65, on corrugations and rough dirt...

    Operating cost of earthcruisers?

Hello Howard, I have run a lot of highway miles and I run my tires hard 65 front 70 rear (I know it is 5psi above label but I like the contact pattern at full load) I do a 5 tire rotation. And I know EC just published recommendations that do not include the spare....I don't care. Happy Trails...

    Operating cost of earthcruisers?

My wife, Jeanne my dog, Mustard and I have put over 27,000 miles on our 2017 Earthcruiser EXP in just over a year. The cost to run is as follows, on highway we get 13.5-15 mpg,off road about 10mpg, (slightly lower in the winter because of the diesel heat) about 1000-1200 miles per jug of DEF...
