CPT (Composite Panel Technologies) Slide In Camper Shell Build, AKA "Yes, Dear, I think this will definitely be my last one...."

Looking forward to following your progress. What are the dimensions of the cabover? What was the cost for the bare shell? I have been interested in building one out, but the cost has put me off.

    Kitchen Kit/Chuck Box

I have been looking for a simple solution for a chuckbox for quite a while now and stumbled across the Dewalt drawer boxes while browsing the black friday deals. Paid around $150 for both pieces. It fits nicely in the vacant generator compartment of my truck camper and fits just about...

Ordering an F350 - need advice

They are a bolt-on. These trucks are pretty tall, they make a huge difference getting in and out of the truck. They are really nice cast aluminum with a textured finish. I paid $300 for them as new take-offs on ebay.

Ordering an F350 - need advice

Was it hard negotiating a deal when you order instead of buying from inventory? I can’t get any of the Ford dealers to order an F150 without taking a substantial hit on price. It depends on what you consider "a substantial hit". I definitely could have gotten a little better deal on a truck...

Ordering an F350 - need advice

Thought I would update this thread. Ordered the truck on 5/6, truck showed up at the dealer on 6/24. haven't done too much with it yet. Added mud flaps, Raptor running boards, 285/75R18 Cooper AT3s on the stock wheels (funny how 35" tires still look small on these trucks) and Torklift camper...

Ordering an F350 - need advice

Wheel well liners are something I can easily add later, I just need to research which are better, the factory ones or the Husky ones. I will have plenty of time to figure out that kind of stuff while the truck is being built.

Ordering an F350 - need advice

When you order the FX4 package, it requires you to get the locking diff and the 275/70R18 AT tires, so the total cost for FX4 is $1055. I only want the skid plates and the locking diff so it only costs me $100 for the skid plates and $390 for the locking diff.

Ordering an F350 - need advice

Don't you know wait is a four letter word? There are several reasons why I don't wait and get a 2020. I think that the 6.2/6 speed combo has proven itself to be pretty reliable, nobody knows how reliable the new engine and trans will be. Maybe it will, but I don't feel comfortable with it...

Ordering an F350 - need advice

Thanks for all the replys! I think I am going with the 4.30s and remote start for sure. I can get the skid plates without getting the FX4 package for $100 so I think I will do that and save the extra money to add to the aftermarket shock/wheel/tire savings account:)

Ordering an F350 - need advice

Currently Ford has an extra $1000 rebate on the STX pkg with the aluminum rims, so it actually costs less than the value pkg with the steel rims. The truck will be parked in the garage when the camper is not on it, but it still might be handy to have remote start for times when it's parked...

Ordering an F350 - need advice

We are getting ready to order a new crew cab long box F350 with the 6.2L gas engine and need some advice on gearing and options. We plan on getting a lightweight truck camper and might also tow a small boat behind on occasion. This truck will also be my daily driver. It will probably As I...
