1980 Land Rover Lightweight Series III Build

My oldest little guy - 3 - has been asking about an "outside car," a convertible and that has me dreaming of repowered Series III on 35s. Will be stealing some ideas from this thread when the time comes.

What axles are you using? Are you going to push the rear axles back at all?

Thanks! The axles are upgraded heavy duty ones from Forbyn Bros. I don’t think we had to push the rear back at all. I’m visiting the restoration shop later today so I’ll inquire and update my reply if they did.

Visited the shop yesterday to check in on the build… a few more photo updates of the progress. Getting close to finished I think at long last.

Under seat lockable storage units from Rough Parts in Switzerland on both sides and the Mills Services rock sliders from the UK.

GMB-Mount locker installed on the wing. Made to replace a Defender air vent but I’m using it to be the locker for the attachment points for the air compressor socket from the ARB dual air compressor that is also powering the front and rear air lockers.
