I had the worst and also the most expensive experience ever. I am going to be short on here, for more details contact me on my phone, which I am going to e-mail you. I hope you understand.
I have ordered fully refurbished 1983 LR 110 converted to 300 Tdi with R380 transmission with metallic paint.
It arrived 3 months later than promised.
At first sight, it looked great...!
Within the first 5 miles! it started overheating. After taking it to a Land Rover Specialist (an Englishman who had spent his life working on Land Rovers all over the world), we had to replaced the radiator (restricted flow, full of debris), the intercooler (the fins were falling off), thermostat (it was gutted, not working, just sat there so the coolant wouldn't leak), water pump (the mechanic found a piece of rag inside)!!!
My Land Rover Enthusiast friend also confirmed, that the transmission is not R380 as ordered (and paid extra for), but LT-77.
Anyway, after eventually fixing all the problems and "refurbished truck", it end up being sold to gentleman from a few states away. I was as honest with him as I could and disclosed everything I knew about the truck. He barely made it home, the clutch was almost completely burned by the time he made it home. He found out that the 300 Tdi / LT-77 / clutch was not made to be matched together and a lot of the bolts, which were suppose to hold it together were not there, because the holes were not in one line! So before he went after me, he contacted LIVERIDGE, since they refurbished the truck. They told him that they only did cosmetic work on it, not a refurbishment!!! So why did I pay for a "cosmetic work " more than I would pay for a nice brand new SUV and waited 3 extra months is a mystery...and that is where the lawyers got involved...! Call me, if you want to know more details.
