1997 Subaru Outback Expedition. Asking $5,800
Modified 2.5 engine, 5 speed manual. Seats two only!

The Out of Sight racing team has finally decided to sell “Dirty Dorothy” after receiving several offers over the years. This Outback was conceived in 2012 and a team assembled to prep the Outback to run the 2013 Mexican 1000. Dorothy was the first Subaru in this event since 1972! Every aspect of the build was thought through to survive one of the world's most brutal races, yet still drive it to and from events. The team was elated when the car survived, finished and even took first place in class RSM (Rally Sport Medium) all-Wheel-Drive. The Team entered the M1k again in 2014 and had a repeat performance. The former Portland Oregon grocery getter was becoming known as a serious contender. Not very fast but consistent and a finisher.

In 2015, the team entered it into the first ever Sonora Rally in Mexico. This event was one part speed and two parts navigation as it was held in the giant sand dunes of the Sonora desert where GPS is not allowed, just a road book for navigation. A huge part of these events was the ability to finish. Out of the three cars entered that year, Dorothy again survived and the other two did not, giving the tenacious Outback a first place overall win!

Burned up clutches and bent struts aside, we chose a tough car in the Subaru and made it more so. The fabrication is a work of art and kept the body together and the under-belly protected time and again. The engine held up under the heat of the desert, brutal testing on Sand Lake Oregon, as an exposition entry vehicle in the Baja Rally (for Motos only) a hill climb event in Oregon and an on-course support vehicle for the same Sonora Rally two times! It was at this event that several people offered to buy Dorothy.
The team has now decided to let someone else enjoy the ride.

The technical specs would take several pages. The engine build alone took up three pages on the engine builders website. The engine has ceramic coated pistons and combustion chambers and an air to oil cooler in front of the radiator to keep the heat down (it has never overheated! The engine builder and Dorothy are now located in Spokane. The car has a certified roll cage, body lift, full under-body armor, magnaflow exhaust, Cobra race seats, Five point harnesses, window nets, fire extinguisher, communication radios, Team Dynamics race wheels (x5) and low mileage BFG tires. and many spare parts: body, lights, suspension, two complete struts/spring assemblies mounted in the back, two spares, etc. A few of the parts are pictured in the open hatch. The parts alone are worth the asking price.

This car is is ready now, to be entered into another event or be driven on an overland adventure. No low-ball offers. If Dorothy does not sell, the engine builder (me) will enter the summer Alcan 5000.

The Body has over 200,000 miles, the engine has 20,000.
Clean Oregon Title. Street legal—still has a cat converter as some events required one.

What is left of the interior? Desert endurance rig...not likely pristine and original inside?
Also you mentioned "three pages on the engine builders website", what is that site?
