2004 G500 or 2002-What's your advice?

We are considering a trade from a Range Rover to a G-Wagen. After 20 years of Land Rover ownership I have become very frustrated by the product.
We have an opportunity to purchase G500 - 2004 or 2002. The 04 has higher mileage on it but that has nver scared me on a Benz as our E320 wagon has 238,000 miles on it and it looks and drives like a two year old car.

Is there a difference between 04 and 02?

I think the G Wagen is abetter suited car for our all around needs as well as some off road. We have a dedicated Overland vehicle so this will not replace that.

The 02 should by now have its kinks worked out.

No much diffrent between the two.

The 2004 has side blinker in the side view mirror if you like that better. Same dash and window regulators. If it were me, the deciding factors would be price and color. Around 80-100K miles the center driveshaft needs service, may develop vibrations if not done. Drive both at highway speeds, test lockers and transfercase shift, chack all power windows and inside door release handles. Mileage is not a big concern IMO.
