Yeah, I read the CL ad and was trying to determine if it had bulletproofed. Also, does anyone know what that storage system is behind the driver system? Is it just some extra shelving?

I can't wait to see some 2013's and 14's come up used a few years down the road. Maybe in 2026 I can afford a 2014. Probably not.

I had contact with owner, and no bulletproofing.

I too would like to have an ER with 6.7, but not able to afford. I would be ok with a bulletproofed 6.0. The 6.4 scares me.

I would probably be another decade out. I am interested in the 6.7 with the 10 speed transmission. I think that is only the LTis. So long road to wait for one of those used.

Offer $150k, spend the difference on swapping in a Cummins 12-valve and an Allison 6-speed. Done.

how difficult is that, And I wonder how that would work with California smog laws?

The swap is popular enough that a couple of companies sell swap kits. (see: Destroked.com for example). It's popular for the 2008-2010 trucks since the 6.4 is junk.

As for CA emissions, yeah, that's another issue. You have to meet the emissions of the chassis, so since it's a 2008 you'd have to swap in a 2009 or newer 6.7L Cummins.
Still worth doing over repairing or replacing the 6.4. It would be the first thing I'd do if I got a 2008-2010 'roamer.

Great information. TFPU.
Vehicle has been sold.
I wonder if purchaser did any research about that 6.4? Every resource I have checked says that engine is a throw away.
