2018 power-wagon comfort/expo build

Hello all. I recently traded in my 2014 Tacoma for a 2018 powerwagon. My 2014 Tacoma was pretty built. Had front and rear bumpers, sliders, winch, wet okolee seat covers and a whole lots of other odds and ends. 9A1EFD72-BD62-41CA-8B73-AEA347CB898C.jpeg30CDB7E0-BAA1-4CD1-88D4-C7A17F157D00.jpegA6F10057-2B03-4257-BF01-D126F1395312.jpeg
It was a great truck. Put about 120k on it before trading it in. A couple reasons I traded it. It rode pretty rough. Not sure if it was all the extra weight or the small lift but it was loud and tore up tires. It was a little to small for my growing family, 2 kids under 5 with one on the way. So it was time to upgrade. I went ahead and traded it for a 2018 Powerwagon. I debated between that and a Raptor but ultimately felt like the Ram was a better value. I want a couple of things when Looking for the truck. I wanted it to be white. Have the rambox and the alpine sound system. This turned out to be almost impossible to find. After a long search for a few months I finally found a truck. This has pretty every feature except for the bed camera. It even had a carpet delete option which has been an incredible feature.F46BF5B8-4FA4-4670-BC79-88A27D6B3F63.jpegAEC32EE4-FB16-4939-99FE-63A3CAAB75D8.jpeg
I will post later what my upgrades will be. I’ve been a watcher of this forum for a while but this is my first post. Have a great weekend.

Your Toyota looks like a great truck. You will like the ram allot better, the first thing you will notice is the room. Awassome truck, look forward to seeing your build.

SOLID FRONT AXLE. Probbly the biggest improvement you will notice. The ram powerwagon is about as capable as a rubicon wrangler out the gate. Minus the size of course.

Factory front and rear lockers, sway bar disconnect, factory warn winch. Plus the ram boxes in the bed and the cubby holes in the floor. Tons of out of sight integrated storage.

My parents have one and ive been trying to talk them into swapping me it for my vette.

Carpet delete? So it has leather seats with vinyl floors? Got any photos of the interior? I'd like to see that.

The extra space is great. It drives so smooth and has been comfortable on long trips. I already have about 8k miles on the truck. The only thing I have done so far is a iPad mount in the cup holder and Rexing Dash camera. My plan is to only add things that won’t effect the comfort level the truck has. So no super large tires or any type of lift. If I go bigger it would be 35’s on stock rim. I believe that’s possible without a lift. My plans are as follows
1. A LED light bar for the front http://www.randyellisdesign.com/Dodge25003500LightBar2010-2016
2. A nuthouse rack
https://nuthouseindustries.com/shop/racks/nutzo-classic/
My only concern with this modification is whether or not I can fit a fourwheeler in the bed of the truck because it looks like it decreases the inside width.
3. White-knuckleoffroad sliders.

I’m a little nervous to install these units myself. I’m not sure how difficult that would be as I’m not very handy.
4. Some sort of RTT
5. An easily removable roof rack. I want something that’s super light and that I can store in the garage until I need it. I don’t want to keep it installed because this truck is already not fitting in most parking garages around these parts.
6. Then the last modification to the truck would be a Can Am renegade 570xmr. I guesse it’s not really a modification but it sure would look nice in the bed of the truck.

Congrats on the new truck, they certainly are nice! Love the vinyl floors, wish mine had that.

You can do those sliders, just get a friend or two to help hold them up, pretty straight forward and easy to do, if you have questions post them here, there are several people on here including myself that have them.

Would this bolt directly into the holes for the side steps?

Truck is pretty dirty. I love not having carpet. It’s great with kids. Only problem is I will probably have to buy a floor met for the drivers side because I believe my foot will wear a hole through the vinyl.

You might not be giving the vinyl enough credit. We had vinyl floors in many of our ambulances and they held up pretty well. After 300k, the Ford flooring would wear smooth but rarely developed holes. After 200k, the floors in the GM trucks still looked pretty good and had some texture. I'd assume that RAM is on par with the other two domestic brands.

My seats suck even with the upgraded cushion. The 4th's are a quantum improvement over mine.
The leather looks inviting. Have fun!
