2020 ALCAN 5000 winter TSD
Route starts in Kirkland then snakes up to Tuk (Tuktoyaktuk) ending on 7 March in Anchorage for the start of the Iditarod and Fur Rondy festival - currently has a wait list that will go down before the start a year from now. We did this in 2016 and are entered again for 2020.

See that you are near Portland.
The same rally club is running a one day novice oriented TSD around Olympia, WA on 5 May. If you would like to see how an RASC rally is run I will post details very soon. RASC prefers to have straight forward events, competitive without tricks or drama. Also if you have any ALCAN questions please let us know. Looking forward to meeting you on the trail or rally route - we do both.

Still on the waiting list, but working our way up, only 2 to go. Wavering on what vehicle to take - F350 or Jeep JKR, decisions, decisions...

More Jeeps than F350s entered - good heater and hard top is important. Also be absolutely sure your gearing is correct - do not want to grenade a tranny or have other issues where a tow is very expensive , close to or more than some vehicles are worth. We bring extra spare parts and special tools to install them.
Have you joined the Alcan5000 Rally FB page?
Like I mentioned to Dochopper come along for RASC's one day novice oriented TSD around Olympia, WA on 5 May. This will be great practice for what to expect on RASC's - ALCAN 5000.

Should have posted this earlier. The same club that runs the ALCAN has a two day gravel run from The Dalles, Oregon overnight in Ellensburg, WA then continue touching the Canadian border with a finish in Omak, WA.
Good way to see how RASC runs their rally events:

Two winter rally events are coming up prior to the ALCAN. Several use them to tweak their cars and their preparation. Both are run in British Columbia by 'Rally BC' - details have not yet been posted:
.
Totem has been run since the 1950s usually in November:
.
Thunderbird Rally has been run since the 1957 usually late January:

I'm wondering how many sets of tire chains I'm going to wear out on such a journey...
