AEV Brute Double Cab

Pickuptrucks.com has posted a video from the SEMA show about the Brute Double Cab.

Two new tidbits: The Double Cab is reported to weigh the same as the Wrangler Unlimited when comparably equipped. Using composites in the pickup bed makes this possible. Keeping the weight the same was an important part of the project, because it makes it possible to run with the stock suspension, brakes and powertrain (the rear driveshaft has to be longer, of course).

Second, while the price has not been set, the goal is for the price to be similar to the older Brute kit, that is, about $10k for parts, and $10k for labor to assemble using the stock Wrangler pieces. If you want a machine similar to the unit displayed at SEMA, with its HEMI engine, Rocktrac axles, suspension lift and 37 inch tires, the price will be, well, higher.

Even better about the weight is that the Brute will enjoy the same fantastic weight carrying and trailering ability of an AEV Hemi JKU.

I wonder how much or weight distribution changed. You gotta think the longer wheelbase and yet similar rear end weight changed weight distribution to a little more weight forward, which would be good, I think.
