On my way back from the highest point in Oklahoma (report coming soon) I made a quick stop to check out the town site of Andrix, Colorado.

The old general store

No idea whats in it.

Old foundations.

Couldn't find Utleyville which is east of Andrix.

Interesting finds, but always saddened to see these places fade away.

Very nice...a place that used to be. Wonder why the trees die?
What makes you think they're dead? Trees outside Southern California just look dead in the winter.

It's possible they are dead, though. Maybe they were irrigated when the town was populated and not being naturally adaptable to the dry high plains they couldn't survive without the assistance.
