anyone hang a hammock INSIDE their suv?

I was watching a video last night, where a guy had set up 2 hammocks inside his Nissan Xterra. Seemed like an idea i'd like to try. The only thing was, he parked facing a tree, and used it as an anchor point for the hammocks outside the vehicle, for that end of the hammocks. (used a ratchet strap for an extension).

i want to try something similar, but on Cape Lookout, so no trees would be available. I don't want that end of the hammock to just slide back in the door frame to the B pillar. I'm trying to think of a way to anchor the end that would be in the front of the vehicle, with out placing a lot of stress on the doors.

it's a lot to describe in words, so i'll try to get the video to add to this post, so you see what i'm talking about.

about the 1:50 mark in the video

never inside my SUV but when I was in the Army I hung a hammock inside the shelter that was in the bed of my CUCV. Worked pretty well for resting between missions.

You need a certain length available for the curve to be "flat enough" for comfort.

Depending on your weight, huge stress at the anchor points.

Seen vans loop a support line over the roof through both front windows to spread the load.

Very impractical with a short vehicle especially with seats in place, maybe a long bed Suburban with front seats only? Ideally driver seat only.

A flat platform easily removed works better.

There is a specialist forum http://Hammockforums.net/ full of hammock scientists world unto itself if you want a major rabbit hole 8-D

Technically it worked, but I would not recommend. Felt like I was pressed against the side of the vehicle and my gmt800 front seats don't lay way back like the pathfinder in the video.
