Sadly a customer had an oil galley plug incident and didn't catch it in time. The rig started life with a doctor in LA, as his commuter to Tahoe. Thus the skier bolted to the hood, thanks doc. After the doc the 60 ended up in Durango for a bit, then Farmington where the unfortunate oil...

Love the 60 and the history.

Our 87 Started its life in California as a family ranch truck, it then went college at UCLA with one of the kids and ended up in St Joseph, Missouri where I found it and bought from the original owners son.
While doing our resto I found an original “UCLA Parking Token” under the carpet and had to blow half the sand of California out of the frame rails but, it was rust free!

Very cool! Neat back story. Good looking 60! Who made your rear bumper?

The random stuff that you end up finding is always fun. We have a '72 FJ40 FST in the shop that had lived on the beach its whole life and it had these pop tops and fishing hooks hidden all over.


When the 60 was dropped off for diagnosis.

Who made your rear bumper?

Back before all the manufactured bumpers there was a guy in Castle Rock, Co. I learned about him from a friend that had him build his bumper (white 60 in the Missouri mud hole...) His company was Solid Rock Off Road (SROR). I designed the bumper and features and he built it and shipped it to Kansas City where I painted and installed it. It’s unique in that the RRT ladder captures the fuel can and its attracted at 4 points (rear frame rail mounts and two rear quarter sliders mounted to the frame) It will support the entire weight of the truck when climbing or dragging it without pressing/flexing into the sheet metal. Very stout and heavy. That was about ten years ago. The last I heard he went out of business but, not sure. Heck of a fabricator.
