Thought yall might be interested.
I grew up in my dad's 1990 GMC Suburban and have always dreamed of driving my own K-5 Blazer.
So I began my search for a truck that led me to Salt Lake City, UT.
I looked at a few trucks that were in better shape than the truck I came home with. But this truck had 190,000 miles, a good rancho lift, fresh tune up, 3 inch exhaust w/ only a high-flow magnaflow cat, and a a lot of rust. Ha.
But the option that sealed the deal was, the 4 speed manual transmission. On the 5 hour drive home (Ketchum, ID) I came to the conclusion that the headlights, u-joints, bushings, and steering box needed replacement. One may get down on having to immediately replace parts but thats where the fun begins with me. If only I knew how much fun my new truck "Jimbo" and I were about to have.
Naturally it needed new paint.
I got rid of the rust and shot it stock white. The front and rear bumpers went from chrome to white with a type of rhino lining. The grill was shot black and the rear aluminum name plate was also shot black.
I also threw on new headlights and wheels. I was too anxious to wait a month for BFG A/Ts so I went with what Les Schwab had in stock; 35 X 10 Mud Terrians on 9.5 X 15 black steel wheels. We had to grind the crap out of the rear brakes to clear these puppies.
I also added a white licnese place and clear turn signals & corner lights.
And then it was time to play
Its past midnight here and I need to go to bed. Ill update more tomorrow.
Until then thanks for checking out my best friend Jimbo.
