Can someone help me figure out how to fab up a slider set up for my fridge???

Hey everyone,

I have a 416 trailer that I built over the winter.

I have a fridge that I really want/need to put on a slide set up for it to come out the back. My fridge is 29" long 18" wide and 21" tall. I've never done any real carpentry work so I don't know what I need to do to make it work. I'm going to purchase an access hatch to cut into the back of the trailer but I hate to commit to a hatch without knowing what the finished overall dimensions. Since my fridge is 29" long I guess I would need some sliders that are 36" long and that the slides will need to come out that far as well????

For mounting the slides should I attach the bottom of the sliders to a piece of plywood then attach the slides to the trailer bed?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm feeling very challenged on coming up with something that will work.

We use a slide out fridge, and love it. Our approach was to get 2 sliders, heavy duty rated and put a strong shelf between them. as our fridge slides sideways, we did not need very long sliders. on top of the shelf, we put an Engel quick release kit which holds down the fridge, but also lets us disconnect it when we want to. Same job as the lash down cables in the post by fullmetaljacket (Nice job by the way!).

You can see pictures of what we have done here.

Just make sure that whatever slides or runners that you use are able for the weight, it will get a lot of bouncing around.
