I just missed out on the Kickstarter campaign. It closed while I was trying to become a backer. These are very nice USB powered water-proof rope lights. All you need is a small power pack or plug into your vehicle. I have at least 3 battery packs (Cheap phone power box from Monoprice, fancy Power Monkey Extreme, or my micro start box from Antigravity). I ordered two ropes for $19.00 a piece. Hopefully they ship on time and can be used on a camping trip in late December.

I would assume via USB but I didn't order their battery pack. Most of the ones I own are via USB.

I looking forward to trying it out. I'm planning on using it for lighting on my awning. The power pack can be charged while driving.

They're on kickstarter again with a new, 20ft product

I am part of the new Kickstarter campaign for both the short and long ones. I want a dimmer switch and the ability to change the color to red to avoid the bugs. The 20ft one has to be powered by 12 volt or the special battery pack. Not just a basic phone charger battery box. It is good they listened to customer feedback and made great improvements to the new design. I also have a cheap 30" usb LED strip from Amazon that I have in my RTT. It works great. I can power it off of a battery pack or plug into the USB port on my trailer. They run $15-$20 depending on if you get one with a remote.

I ordered a few sets of these for my RTT.

I had two sets left over so I covered them in clear shrink tubing (mainly to protect the 3M tape) and now just position them as needed around camp. The shrink tubing does a nice job of diffusing the light also. I plug them into cheap battery banks I picked up at 5Below.

Hmm. I've got some leftovers too; what tubing did you use? I have stuck LED strip lights in lotsa places in my van. Now I'm gonna do the same with USB wired ones in other locations and just move my USB battery pack around as needed. Like under the hood, in some seldom frequented places, etc.

I just used some clear shrinkable tubing from NAPA I had laying around. At first I thought it would be too opaque but it works nicely. It adds a nice layer of protection plus if I ever want to stick the strip anywhere I figure to just cut off the tubing and then peal and stick and go. :victory:
