FiftyTen is a German company that makes a modular popup camper. It consists of
— a pickup flatbed (or tray, in Australia-speak) that has side mounted storage lockers and a rear-mounted slideout drawer;
— a box that covers the flatbed, with large lift-up access panels
— a flip-top tent that folds forward over the cab of the truck

The tent and box are designed to be easily removable, allowing you to use the truck in other ways when you’re not on the road.

The company promises that their camper can fit any double cab short bed pickup, but they are referring to European models. So the camper probably could fit North America trucks like the Toyota Tacoma, Chevy Colorado, and the new Ford Ranger.

The price of the flatbed is $6800 at today’s exchange rates. The box and tent cost ~$8000 each. All three would cost about $23,000, plus installation.

Here’s a video of the camper
