Hi all!! I’m new here but was told to try my question over here.
Just acquired an older Flippac that has a pitch on the rear window wall (I was told the older ones had this-tan tent.)
Has anyone had any luck modifying this pitch to have a straight up and down look?
Thanks in advance !!!

That's just fiberglass work. That doesn't affect any of the structural nest of it as far as the hinge in support

Here is my idea of cutting it (pencil lines.) I am under the impression that there was 1.5” metal supports running the length of the shell. My concern is near the top. If I cut it to close to the tent, will there be enough material to adhere to?

You are correct there is a piece of square tubing up there. Honestly what you are proposing will be a headache that once started will cause you ongoing grief.

Another option would be to build an “L” style bracket off the tailgate to close the void.
Does anyone know what year this Flippac May be and what vehicle it was built for? I know it was on a dodge Dakota when I bought it.
Just curious if there is a 4 door truck it might fit that’s an earlier model. Ex- early tundra

Another option based on your "L" bracket concept would be modding aone of those tailgate plastic pieces found on late model dodge tailgates for air stream/fuel savings. A heat gun, exacto knife and epoxy could be your new best friends.

Does anyone know what vehicle this Flippac would fit? It was on a dodge Dakota when I bought it but I really don’t want a dodge Dakota. I can’t get a straight answer on the internet about bed sizes. I was thinking it would fit a t100 or early tundra?

It looks bigger than the "small" truck versions that fit the 1st gen Tacoma, early Ranger, S10, etc. It would look narrower on a 2nd gen Tacoma. A Dakota is a legitimate guess, they were a little bigger trucks but I'm not sure now much bigger than a 2nd gen Tacoma. If I was wagering a guess I'd have thought a full size truck personally since 6.5' is more common (e.g. "standard" length) where 6 feet is a standard length (or now long) bed Toyota midsize. My understanding is Dakota and T100 and 1st gen Tundra are all fairly close in size but I don't have any numbers to reference.

It sat pretty nicely on the 2001 Dakota. I doubt that Flippac made it just for this truck.
When I measure a newer tundras bed, the Flippac that I have would not fit. It would fall inside the bed based on the measurements. Anyone have a 1st gen tundra or a t-100 bed they could measure?

What are the measurements of the FP?
