So at this point it is still rocking the Long arm kit with coil springs with Fox shocks. As I said before we are slowing replacing the suspension components.

Started off with a mock up. This coilover is super long. We are trying to keep in inside the hood and the fenders so we don't mess to much with the vintage vibe.

After A LOT of staring and measuring, we made some marks and bent some tube. Honestly, with both of the frame rails being different and no common reference point, we just eyeballed where the hoop would be. We went to King of the Hammers in 2020 and a vender was giving away some scrap metal that turned out to be perfect for the upper mounting tabs. I welded two of them together to increase strength. To our amazement the hoops are off less then an inch. Since the coilovers are adjustable more than an inch we called it good.

Now we need to limit up travel. There is very little up travel due to the fact the axle wants to occupy the same space as the oil pan. ish bought 4 inch Kings bumpstops and the cans to hold them. From looking at thing, we knew we would have to insert the cans into the frame. We made our cuts and did the test fit. Everything was good. Welded them in. *Note* These are chromoly cans & $45 for 1. After it was welded the bumpstops would not fit anymore... We had to cut them out and order new ones. On Round 2, we SLOWLY welded the cans, in small increments. The messed up cans were made into the coilover reservoir holder.

Ish noticed some flex in the hoops. He created a removable cross over bar to link them together.

With those items taken care of, we still had one problem the... Exhaust. This is how we snaked it back with it facing forward. Not ideal but it worked. With coilovers now occupying that space, we have to think of a fix.

The Fix: I decided to modify the headers and thin them out. This is how it turned out.

You know its done right when it can stand on it's own. Not the prettiest but It should do the job. ?

Thank you.
Pure entertainment is why I post and as a plus, if my brother & I drop dead, I hope the next owner will know this truck was well loved and continue posting updates here.
For the tire cover, since it on a wheel hub, we were hoping it would rotate while driving. Spoiler... it didn't.

So at this point the California registration is coming due. Ish said he is not paying it, since it's too much. Cali wanted $284 to register this truck. They say the heavier the truck the more "wear and tear" happens to the road sure... Anyways, I recently moved to Nevada and decided to register it there. $51 later we had a new plate. To celebrate the occasion, My buddy(2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon) and I took it to do a simple trail Angels Peak. When we got to the trail head I noticed the E-Fan wasn't turning on. Checking out the fan plug, I noticed it got hot and melted a tad. I brought so many tools with me. I was able to cut the wires and solder & heat wrap it back together. Also, had a slight overheating problem when going up the mountain. Besides all that ran good was going over 50 MPH on the trails at times.

After getting to the top, we went to Mary Janes Falls trail head for a little hike.

The maiden voyage trail run showed cooling issues. Can't have it over heating in the middle of nowhere. I know older Fords had overheating problems and the Ford fix was make it bigger or move more air. So we found some 90's Mustangs, they have 20 inch fans. Swapped the old16" Spal fan for the 90's Mustang fan. still need to make a fan shroud for it but for now it will do for now.

We don't live far from Johnson Valley for King of the Hammers 2021. The truck didn't have any problems meandering around there. We didn't do any trails. We just watched other people roll over and climb massive rocks.
We met up with our buddy Ryan and he convinced Ish to do some donuts in some mud.

We seen one other person playing in the mud and we found out why. It's a clay type of mud. We didn't realize what it would do. Ish says he will never do it again. Took a ton of hours to get most of the mud off. Lost some paint in the process.

It has been a minute.

Ish has been fighting an overheating problem for awhile now. Since we changed the both head gaskets. He has changed the E-Fans from a Spal 16 inch to a Ford Mustang 20 inch fan. Then later adding a fan shroud for the mustang fan. None of them fixed the cooling problem. This weekend, he went for the thermostat change to see if that would fix it. After the thermostat change he noticed the lower hose was still cold. Took it apart again and then he found the problem. The upper hose started to fall apart on the inside. This hose is some sort of multi layer hose. I guess they don't last. Also, in he steam vent hose there was a bug or some type of leafy material clogging it too. Very odd. He replaced the upper hose with a full rubber on and blew out the steam line with an air compressor. Not sure how to check the radiator for junk, we figured, boiling some water and pouring it into the radiator would be good enough. Nothing came out, so we are calling it good. On the test, the fan kicks on at 195 and it turns off at 190. It seems to be working right. Time will tell.

Ish got some more work done on the truck. Having problems with getting sway bar links so he ordered a Anti Rock Offroad Sway bar. This sway bar is super easy to install. Welded in the outside tube, put the bushings in, throw the bar in, connect the links and boom done. From having no sway bar to this believe it or not... reduced body roll.

He also changes the front springs from 200/200 to 200/300 which netted another 3 inches of front lift. Not sure what the lift is but the front is somewhere around 10 inches.
