Missed the chance to buy a new Sportsmobile Ford van before they were discontinued a couple years back? Well, this is the next best thing!
2006 E250 Super Duty 5.4 gas engine EB50 with a true 17,000 miles! It really is like new. Here's the post from the dealer I bought it from: 2006 Ford E250 Sportsmobile Value? - Sportsmobile Forum
It was ordered with a lot of options (Starcool, generator, heater, fridge, micro, stove, etc) and the van has the optional limited slip rear axle (see build data). I'm the second owner. The first was a handicapped individual, and he ordered it without the rear 3 person folding seat/bed gaucho. He was not able to drive it anymore a couple years after delivery and it was only used occasionally by his kids.
Since purchase I removed the handicap equipment and installed a reclinable/foldable/removable three person bench seat in the rear and a single captains chair by the side door to accomodate my kids and parents. These were from a low mileage Ford Windstar van (upholstery matches the van well) and I installed them using the factory mounting hardware so they are easily removable. They use factory Ford lap seatbelts. You could have SMB install a gaucho if you want to use the rear as a full size bed, but I prefer the Windstar bench for its easy removal, greater comfort, recline setting, headrests, and car seat LATCH points. My kids were small enough to use the rear bed without the gaucho extension.
I also upgraded the wheels to OE Ford forged alloys with new tires. The van had the original dry rotted 2006 dated tires on it when I bought it with lots of tread still! The van runs, drives, and even smells like new. I've put 5000 miles on it this past year with zero problems. All camping equipment works as it should. Both A/C systems blow ice cold, Generator has less than 1 hour on the clock. Body is excellent, all original paint with no dents or dings. Poptop canvas, windows, and screens are like new.
I‘m selling because I just bought another 2006 SMB...a diesel E350 short body which will better suit me for a daily driver. If you spec this van out at the SMB Website (using a Chevy van) it would cost close to $100,000. Asking $36,900. Located in Loma Linda, CA, about 1 hour from LAX. Please call or text (909) FIVE83-1894
Check back often...I will take more pics this weekend.
