For your consideration a project I have been tinkering with for several years is available for you to use to advance your project. Perfect trailer base for your expo build. Just design and build your idea of the perfect camping box and bolt it to this one off custom trailer.
Custom Built to exacting standards. Designed to carry 1/2 ton as fast as the vehicle in front can tow it.
Custom laser cut, full box double 'c' channel tig welded frame.
Independent Wishbone trailing arm airbag suspension.
Full Steel Fenders are attached to the swing arms and move with the wheel.
Riv-Nuts around perimeter for attaching.
Brembo 4-piston brakes with custom fabricated surge system on articulating hitch.
15" X 35" BFGoodrich Mud Terrains on 15" X 8" Black Steel Wheels. Bearing Buddies installed on hubs.
Fiberglass over Marine Plywood front box. Center compartment for electronics completely waterproof. Side Compartments both feature re-enforced doors to support weight.
All steel professionally powder coated.
All stainless hardware throughout.
LED Lights.

Some very interesting engineering ideas. What do you estimate its weight capacity to be? Articulation range of the swing arms?

Like the post says... 1000# at full speed but that's over rough terrain at full speed. I'm confident it will carry more than twice that on typical dirt road. Axles are 3500#. Articulation wasn't really a consideration in this build. I wanted something that could handle rough doubletrack like Baja, at whatever speed the tow vehicle could handle. If you're looking for something to drag through the Rubicon an M416 would be my choice. Intentionally this thing is long with a long front triangle and the axles a bit farther back. Again, with speed and stability trumping manuverability.

Would this be a good platform to stick a hallmark or FWC camper body on top? Seems like wide and long enough to accommodate one.
