How do you manage to stay below the GWVR of 6,490kg or can that be raised?
OMG sorry for the total Math blond moment! I am British living in Canada and the whole metric imperial thing got things confused

Weight of bare truck with super singles and winch bumper = 2936kg
Weight of Truck with completed subframe, body, door and windows (empty Box) = 3890kg

GWVR of truck in kg 6372kg which leaves 2482kg for the build-out.

Hope that clears things up ;o)

Hi,c an you advise on tires? the Dynapro seems really heavy at 84 lbs per tire, im comparing it wit the KO2 at 69lbs per tire and Wrangler MTR kevlar at 72 lbs.
all these tires have max load 3525. you went with dynapro for the ply rating??

All i can say regarding tires is i went with the Hankook tires as they were recommended by one of the ex-owners of Earth curser who has been around the world and back again using them both offroad and on road and had very good things to say about them ;o) I have no insight into the other brands i am afraid.

Have you had a chance to test the Elgena? Hot showers yet? ETA to hot?
With so many choices for hot water, what were your reasons for going this route?
I would think a coolant loop/exchanger built in (to the elgena) would really increase its functionality.
Build looks great!

Where did you get the outside fold down table from?

Not as yet but will give feedback as soon as we have fully tested the systems

on your pic of the air diesel heater.. what is the thing inline with it a water tank? if so does its exhaust exit thru a tank to preheat water prior to a instant water heater (if the air heater is being used)

It's an Elgena Nautic-Compact Air. It's a 10L water tank. Works just like you said, the air heater provides the heat. The Y junction immediately after it has a gate to direct the hot air flow outside in summer. Same principle as the Truma and Webasto diesel air/water heater combos but lower cost and way less hassle to repair. I'm really curious to know how well it works!

@jetstreamin, are you concerned about the 180 between the Planar and the Elgena? I'd be worried you'd lose some efficiency that way. It looks like you have room to put the Planar east-west in there...

And, man…great build, very inspiring! I haven't started a thread yet but I have a camper body from Andreas and my Fuso is at ITB right now :)
