HanWag Boots

I'm a fan of Meindl boots but have access to HanWag boots at discounted prices.

Does anybody have any experience with the Alaska Gore-Tex boot? HanWag in general?

Hi,

our Shop sell both Brands.

Quality is on the same level, Meindl fits better for a wider feet, Hanwag is a little bit more on the
narrow side.

The Alaska Gore-Tex boot is super. Almost zero break-in required (which is impressive for those of us who remember the old days of filling leather alpine boots with warm water and wearing them for weeks). Very comfortable for my D width foot. Abundant ankle support and, of course, great traction and footplant stability from the (re-soleable) Vibram sole. I really like the high rand that encircles the whole boot coupled with leather upper which was, by far, the biggest selling point for me. The price didn't hurt, either. Available in brown (marrone) for those wearing OCP.
