I agree with your assessment and Frenchie’s that it is safe to go to Mexico. A few years ago I did the Copper Canyon trip with Frenchie and his account was spot on, I felt safe and comfortable but some of the others on the trip did not feel the same. I would not have any hesitation to go back again, the only thing that does bother me is that there was no translator from the government at the border crossing to help with the paper work, luckily we had a Spanish speaking person with us that was a great help

One of the best (and worst) things about the era in which we live is technology. Today, using apps like Google Translate where you can download entire language packs, and even have voice to text features it makes travel to international destinations so much easier than ever before. The tools at our disposal just keep getting better. We use Google Translate all the time. ~ E

I enjoyed the pod cast this evening from Guanajuato! I have sent you this note as a post. I do not have any of the Facebook or the like. I have finally retired my last "Homing Pigeon". For Mr. Caspian this is Frenchie (Da Frenchman) from Rio Rancho, New Mexico, USA. I will be leaving for Baja California,( Norte and Sur) on January 4th. 2022. I will be their for over a month visiting some of my favorite places. I will be looking forward to seeing more of your posts when I return.

To all my friends who have been encouraging me with trying to figure out a way to livestream while on this global journey thank you. It has been quite a ride of discovery. Here are my thoughts if you care to read them:

Update after livestream:

So it went really well from certain standpoints and not so well from others. I've tried everything I can to make this work and learned a lot in the process.

Ultimately I've decided that I'm done with livestreaming on this global journey unless we are streaming directly to an audience just the two of us (floating head style) with blazing internet.

It was worth a try though and while my video that went up was somewhat watchable and we got a ton of great comments. The quality of the video playback were still issues.

Like I said, I learned a lot in this process so it wasn't a wasted effort.

But ultimately I just want to make better videos that are easy to watch and keep the attention of the viewer. I want to increase my click through rate and average watch time. That's it. This is what allows us to share this journey with more people and that is what we want for folks who are interested to be able to join the journey with us.

So I'm going to try and focus on that. Appreciate all of your support through this experimentation of the livestream process for us. ~ Eric

Laundry at camp. It's a thing when you are overlanding for more than a weekend or week at a time. Sure you can find a laundromat and honestly there are many decent solutions out there.

To be honest we don't carry many clothes. Each one of us has a backpack that ALL of our clothes for this global overland trip fit in. So we run out of clothes fairly quickly especially since we spend most of our life outdoors.

We're hard on our things and our community of folks who follow us on social know this. So we're often asked the question about how we take care of the "little things" like laundry.

This is our answer to that question:

Trying to talk to banks on behalf of a loved one who you take care of their finances from a different country is a trying nightmare.

I'm about to throw my phone at the foot of some horses in the field where I'm overland camping in Mexico so they can trample it.

I knew logistics on this journey were going going to be difficult, but this process is hair-pulling, soaking in gasoline, and lighting on fire kind of frustrating.

On hold for 10 minutes, talk to one representative and then get almost to the end where we're actually going to get what I need done, then get put on hold and another person comes on the line who has no idea what we were just talking about. He has no notes from the 10 minute conversation that I had and we have to start all over. We talk for another 10 minutes and he finally figures out he has to transfer me to a "specialist" who is supposedly able to help me.

This is where I'm at now. Yes, I'm still on hold and if it weren't for Brittany trying to keep me calm I don't know what the outcome would be...
