I grabbed a perfect condition transfer case shifter assembly from a 95 SR yesterday just in case anyone might need to replace their crumbling unit.

Yeah, it helps living where they sell more 4wd vehicles than anything else it seems and we don't have much of a rust issue, so good used parts are plentiful.
I have the same issue. Hope this simple fix will do the trick.
