This is from the beginning of February. Just some misc shots. Had some coffee and rovers, spent a night in Asheville, and did some mountain biking. Nothing to crazy. The shot with the jeep is my moms new ride. She went to the dark side and bought a Willy’s so this was the first adventure with the jeep. She used to have an lr3 a ways back.

These are from mid February when we went to Skottles and Bottles in Atlanta for the Land Rover take over. Really cool turn out. We spent the evening before our in Helen GA on Trey mountain with a fellow range river owner and camped out with Rob (lr3) really fun day of wheeling I’ve got some videos I will try to post too.

Here’s some of the repair stuff. Top few pics are of the cv joint and the preload shim repair which was done probably 4 times total trying to figure out where the wobble was coming from. You can see the swivel seal was pretty well shot, this caused the the cv fluid to leak out eventually caused the cv joint to fail. The cv joint was cracking when turning at full lock, there was also a lot of play in the flange drive.

I did end up going with an LT 265/75r16. Oriya was thinking of going with a skinnier tire, but ended up going with these. I went with the thunderer m/t after seeing a few people running them, 1 of which was an lr3, and they talked pretty highly about them, so for the price point I jumped on them. (I was on a budget for tires)

And this is the tires all mounted up, mavis was the only shop I could find in Greenville that was willing to mount tires that weren’t purchased through them. Also got a matching spare finally.

After the tires were put on I made it to a
Rigs & coffee (Greenville chapter) which was the first event for the upstate area. Of course Rob and I rolled out together and it was a pretty good time. The 3rd photo is when I realized my fuel gauge is no longer accurate. I was driving up a hill and apparently I didn’t have enough diesel to make it, so we were pulled off of I26 waiting for roadside to bring some fuel. Great shot though. And lastly is the disco all loaded up on the uhual to head to Bluffton SC where a fellow rover enthusiast is rebuilding the transmission. 5th gear decided to go about a week after the 1st to photos. This was mid march or so.

Just read this thread start to present. I'd love to something like this some day. Love the Disco I.

I love my D1, it’s such an awesome platform and the diesel and manual make it perfect.

Transmission is officially back in the river as of last night!! Looks like it. Oils be done in the next few days!

Last Saturday the Rover was back together and driving again but before we went to pick it up the guy doing the repairs felt it wasn’t right and tore it back down. 2nd gear was shifting rough still. So as of this evening he found the issue, the cleaner needs didn’t line up and replaced this part (not sure what it is) and the clearances were perfect. It’s now going back together and we are hoping to pick her up on Saturday!

We also registered for Octobers Rover Safari in Uwharrie. Getting down to crunch time!
