Wanna Convo Yo Taco to Retro in S. Diego?

I’m not sure what to make of this idea ??‍♂️ but obviously someone smarter than I has determined that there’s a market for encouraging people with money burning a hole in their pockets to spend a load of cash to convert a newer rig into a retro one!

Is this an instant ?collectible or a waste of ? ?

What, no photo of a retro Taco? Customers must be holding their breath in anticipation.

The older rigs do look better. Tacos look terrible after the lst generation. Hilux are the best.

Cruisers started losing it looks wise with the 100 series. Or, arguably the 80 series since it's a target of a retro facelift too.

Pretty easy with the 1st Gens, most people go for the newer look.

I could swap my 2004 tacoma front end for a 98~ era front end easily. Could likely find someone to trade with too.

But…Some people who need to over compensate for their insecurities

That black older 4Runner looks amazing!

My opinion means little but the newer 4runner is possibly one of the ugliest Toyotas ever made. Second only to those awful new Lexus things with the football field sized grill.

$30K gets you a 60 series look alike grille, headlights and bumper, plus knobby tires wrapped around steelie wheels. On the interior, the leather gets replaced with cloth. Oh, can't forget the fresh paint job. There's where all the dollars go. That's a lot of cash for strictly cosmetic purposes. It certainly makes for a more standout appearance.

Look at a few 100 series with snorkels- it’s a no go for me. Don’t get me wrong if you want one that great- but I’d feel weird driving around with a snorkel all the time

IMO they look appropriate on Troopys, ridiculous on anything else.

had a tacoma with a snorkel for a few years. Everyone called it the Dorkle.
