We have just done a holiday without the camper trailer for the first time since....well both myself and the misses can't actually remember when the last time was that we did a non camping holiday. Seriously, we actually can't remember the last holiday we did that didn't involve going camping, it would have been pre having kids, and our oldest is now 13 years of age, so this was something very different for us to do. Both locations we stayed at are in Central Queensland on the Eastern coastline of Australia.... if you find Rockhampton on a map then head East to find Kinka Beach, and Seventeen Seventy is about 200klms South of there. At Kinka Beach we stayed in a cabin at the Coolwaters Caravan Park, and at 1770 we rented a house that had cracking water views of both the ocean and the bay, so we got to see both sunrise and sunsets over the water from the verandah that wrapped around the house
Normally i'd do a day by day indepth report on any trip we do, but this report i'll let the pics do the talking instead..........
OUR MORNING TEA STOP AT THE NORTHERN OUTSKIRTS OF GYMPIE....it's a nice free camp they have here, though it's a touch close to the highway and can be noisey if not locked away inside a caravan or motorhome
GIN GIN HAS A NEW PLAYGROUND IN THE TOWN, SO WE STOPPED IN FOR A LOOK HERE AND LET THE KIDS LOOSE AGAIN
OUR LUNCH STOP WAS IN A BACK STREET PARK IN THE TOWN OF MIRIAM VALE
SUNSET OVER CAUSEWAY LAKE AT KINKA BEACH....VIEWED FROM COOLWATERS VAN PARK WHERE WE STAYED AT FOR 4 NIGHTS...NICE TO VIEW AFTER OUR 690 KILOMETRE (ROUGHLY 430 MILES) DRIVE FOR THE DAY TO GET THERE
THE MAIN BODY OF WATER SEEN IN BACKGROUND IS CAUSEWAY LAKE WHICH IS RIGHT BESIDE WHERE WE STAYED
THE WATER FLOWS IN AND OUT OF CAUSEWAY LAKE HERE AS THE OCEANS TIDE GOES IN AND OUT
IT LEAVES A TIDAL CREEK TO THE OCEAN AT LOWTIDE, POPULAR WITH THE FISHERMAN
THE BEACH IN TIDAL CREEK AREA
MY FAMILY LOOKING OUT OVER THE OCEAN...GREAT KEPPELL ISLAND IS RIGHT OUT INFRONT OF WHERE WE WERE
THIS RANDOM POST WAS CONCRETED INTO THE ROCKS WHICH GET SURROUNDED BY THE WATER OF THE OCEAN WHEN THE TIDE COMES IN...A SURVEY POINT MAYBE WAS MY GUESS?
THE WATER PARK WHERE WE WERE STAYING AT...IT'S MIDDLE OF WINTER HERE IN AUSTRALIA AND MY KIDS STILL WENT SWIMMING...BUT WE DON'T REALLY GET A VERY COLD WINTER HERE ON THE COAST OF QUEENSLAND
SUNSET OVER CAUSEWAY LAKE ON DAY 2
