Ha! I like it!
... but gotta play the game.... Making 42's look small since 2014
I would be interested in meeting halfway (somewhere in texas panhandle like Palo Dura Canyon state park) and do some overlanding/camping

mmmmm. 42s. I have a set of 42" Treps for my truck. They are my cruising around tires for KOH this year. I would be game for a trip to the pan handle. I am in the process of retiring right now, but I start burning leave in Dec through Jan. then we will be in Johnson valley testing for a couple of weeks before KOH.

I have considered a set of 42" Irock's for the truck, How do you like the Pitbulls for road driving? Did you make your own rear winch mount or buy it?

I couldn't find anyone who did a winch under the rear bed... so I did it myself. I welded into frame and the class 5 hitch and somewhat hid the fairlead behind the license plate. In the military, the winch is mounted to the front because the troops either go forward or die. The military used to sink the ships so that the troops knew they go forward or die. If im going to a deer lease and get stuck 5 feet into it... I need to go backwards and come back another day.

LOL I don't remember the WARN rep I was talking to years ago, but he told me the average customer only needs to pull their vehicle 3.5' to get out of trouble and the best location for a recreational winch is in the rear (I really like the multi mount concept, but doesn't work on a full size diesel truck). We mount winches to the front of our vehicles for expeditionary use and assistance mostly I think. Interestingly, agg. and forestry work requires a winch on the rear as well. Far as the Army, well, I was never a fan of moving in large columns, wearing uniforms, large pieces of equipment begging for ordinance to fall on it or anything conventional......However, everything and everyone has their place brother.

I like the idea of the fairlead mounted in effect to the center of the rear bumper behind the license plate. Nice and high, out of harms way, hidden for the most part by the license plate from prying eyes. I continue to struggle with a spare tire option for the rear, but we will work it out.

Spare tire is an issue. I’m going to have to travel an hour or two to find a heavy diesel shop that can make a custom 4” exhaust so that it clears the full sized spare. Nobody where I live has the mandrels big enough to work on 4”.

Are those black rhino wheels? How are they holding up?

They are the Black Rhino "Armory" wheels in 20 x 9 with I thingy 18mm offset. They have been great, held up very well. Actually, I can't say I have had a single issue with them at all. They even balanced very well. I have 2 41" conti's with less than 6 ounces of weight on them.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been eyeing those wheels for a little while now. Good to see them on a Dodge as a preview. Do you have a build thread on that truck? That thing is sick. If not post up some specs man!

There is a rear winch mount in existence but they require multiples to be ordered in order to produce them. Myself and another user here are trying to work that out as we speak.

Humvee / H1 Hummer having fun in Death Valley National Park,
some pictures of echo canyon, very narrow trail,
We also did chicken corner trail in Death Valley, that’s as narrow as it gets for any 4x4
Humvee tires were 4 inches away from 800 ft drop in the canyon.
I own many types of 4x4s and I am not car brand or model biased, but honestly H1/ Humvee is just another level of 4x4, unbelievable capability.
