Lift hoist

Even though my garage is tall enough to attach a lifting hoist for the RTT, the entry to my garage door is still low enough that it touches the RTT.
I have no choice but to load it outside my driveway.
My simple solution is to buy a game hoist and modded it a little bit by extending the arm. It’s supposed to carry a deer up to 500 lbs. My Skyrise 2 is only less than a 100 lbs. so it should be okay.

A simple cable truss or stay will offer plenty of reinforcement. One end of the cable attached at the intersection of the vertical and horizontal sections, with other end of the cable attached where the last pulley is. A short vertical brace at the midpoint of the two end points.

I just finished modifying my engine hoist to lift mine. Added a steel "C' channel to get a little extra lift and added some outriggers off the side just in case. Hoping to try it out later this week, fingers crossed!!

Good idea, let us know how it works.

I would suggest cutting the part that goes into the hitch as short as possible.

It works ok, but a little sketchy. Needs some strengthening modifications.
Had a fun memorial weekend though. Love the Yakima skyrise for easy set up and lightness.

I only tried it once. And wasn’t able to take a picture and hoist it at the same time. As I said, it wasn’t stable and needs to be strengthened first. I don’t want to risk it again just for a photoshoot.
