M416 tires. Question about tubeless on wheels

Hey everyone.

The military tube type tires on the trailer are pretty rough looking. The inner tubes seem to be ok as they are holding air. But I need new tires none the less.

From what I have found on line, 225/75/16 are a good replacement in terms of size. However, it’s the mounting that has me perplexed.

Can a tubeless tire be mounted on the military wheels without the inner tubes? The wheels themselves look good with no bents outer rim, no rust, or anything else suspect.

Thanks.

Yes you can but those tires are LT tires and don't air down well. Get some jeep wheels (cheap) and get some 31.9.50 15 tires load range C . They will air down nicely .
I know from experience about running the LT tires and have then bounce while aired down . After all, they are designed for use on 3/4 and one ton trucks.
