I just discovered this thread after posting these pics in the main Toyota Forum; there are some incredibly awesome trucks in here. Here is my junk: 1986 Toyota Turbo Pickup, 306K miles, 5spd, 33" Duratrac's, Shell, sleeping platform, NWTI winch bumper, Smittybilt 9500 winch with synthetic line. It's a work in progress; I still want to add sliders and a rear bumper, among other things. I love this truck, it did 20K miles as my DD and now gets me all over Tahoe for camping, snowboarding etc.
My wife can't figure out why I've been coveting my neighbor's 85 xtra cab, desert tan w/ matching canopy and wheels. I look at this one and feel the same way. Sooooo hot. Awesome thread Crenshaw! I got my first rusty '81 4x4 pickup with the 22R and a 4 speed back in my senior year at highschool. I've had a collection of pickups and Land Cruisers my whole life. Although I now own a 2014 diesel truck (work
), I have a '99 Land Cruiser and just bought a '96 Frunner. My favorite era is still the 84-85 trucks, but I couldn't find one that didn't need a motor or major rust repair this go round. I will get another one some day, but I have too many other projects right now to put the time in right now. The 4Runner will eat up maybe 2 weekends to get to where I want it.
A couple of my older Toys. The grey one was quite the rust bucket, but it came out nicely with a bit of mig time. The white one was bought as is for a steal. I could never justify all the money it would cost to put on all the farkle!

It was pretty perfect. I bought it from a friend who manages a couple of offroad shops. 22RE, cam, header, 5.29 gears. I should have never sold it... But I made like $5k on it, so I made the stupid choice.

Man no kidding. It's stupid what these trucks are starting to be worth these days. I got my current one for free, and my previous '94 4runner was $1400. I sold that runner for $3k a bunch of years ago and was kind of shocked. I get weird offers for my white truck all the time. If it continues like this it'll be worth more than my wife's Lexus soon. (only sort of joking!)

I bought the grey one for my nephew, but he didn't want a standard trans (what the hell is wrong with kids?). I picked it up for $2,000 with brand new 31" KM2s on it, built the deck to replace a rotten bed, and parked it out front of my house with a sign in the window (it was a 3.0 but if it was a 22RE I'd have kept it). It sold in 4 hours for $5500!!!

That one actually seems reasonably priced- although I probably wouldn't have thought so 5 years ago. Anything not horribly beat on with under 200k is liable to pull 6k+ it seems. The 4runner I referenced earlier had like 280k miles on it and sold in 3 or 4 hours after listing. Crazy.
