Padlock mounts

I found these great category 1 hitch links at a local farm store. The threads measure 5/8”, and the pin is 7/8” with an over all length of 2 3/4”. I welded them in place, but I imagine you could bolt them in, but I think that may defeat the purpose in most situations.

also could bolt and peen, but it would be a PIA if you ever wanted to remove them.
