Paper maps

Hi all, was hoping for some advice on what countries in Southern and Eastern Africa that paper maps would be need? If any at all. Already have a satnav and downloaded Garmin maps.

If you guys think this would not be enough, which countries would you recommend picking maps up for? And what brand of maps do you recommend? I'm currently in Cape town and have heard tracks for Africa is good?

Thanks

We use ITMB maps in pdf for reference, and Tracks4 Africa in the GPS. Maps.me and Google Maps are also handy. As you go further north T4A has less input however we have found the route coverage good everywhere in Southern and Eastern Africa. Some national parks offer paper maps which can be handy in terms of campsites and tracks, although a combination of T4A and iOverlander will give you most of the information you need; even so it's helpful to have the park maps available, either as offered, or as photos on your phone or pad.
