Not an offroad/expedition rig but I wanted something to mount my tent to so I could park it and leave it. This will be used on trips and campgrounds, I got tired of it being on my truck and having to pack up every time I wanted to drive somewhere. Now I have both options. It's a nice little 4x8 utility trailer and I added a truck ladder rack for the tent. Super affordable.

I like this idea! I just picked up a nice home built trailer and looking for a reasonably priced way to mount the tent. How has this setup been working for you? Do you use a annex? Thanks!

C-Fish what is that roof rack on the maroon FJ? Who makes it? Is it aftermarket or did it come with the rig?

On the trailer too - is that a platform rack, and what manufacturer? It looks like Rhino Rack?

Thanks.

Sorry I missed this....

The FJ has a Baja Rack platform on it.
The trailer sports a Rhino Rack platform.

Nice set-up! How high is your tent rack once it is raised? Trailer home built or bought? Thanks!
if I remember right, at the highest position it's right at 84" to the bottom of the tent. I hanve a mid point that I usually use that's just a few inches above my head, and I'm 6'3". the trailer was purchased from Ruger trailers in Thornton CO. they built the tent platform under my direction though. I built the raise/ lower functionality.
