You could get a hose for the Big Buddy and run it off of a 100-Pound Propane Cylinder,or a Chicom diesel parking heater.Stu may have left some cow chips around.Being cold sucks.

Diesel heater ******. Car battery and a gas can for a fuel tank. They are so cheap now.

Had some nice weather today. Been a rocky road so far. The fuel tank in the colorado split at the seams. Limped over to UTV Sports Magazine headquarters in Havasu. They let me use the shop to pull the tank out. Ordered a better cell from summit and paid $90 to have it overnighted. Kyle let me stay at his place for the night, and we planned to tackle the new cell the following afternoon. We went over to the UPS store and they closed early. I wouldn't get the cell until thurs. I still need to do some plumbing with new lines too. Brandon loaned me his ford escort to get back to my place. 1st day of the new year was spent clearing brush. Creosote, cactus, and sage. Did it all with a shovel and rake. Great stress reducer; I'll sleep well tonight. Tomorrow I will head back to havasu to fix the colorado, and hopefully pick up something else I've been looking at. ;)

More exercise today. I'm kind of a rock hound. I like what nature makes. I've always liked quartz. I know it's not valuable, but I like how it looks. I started noticing a lot of rose, and milky white quartz laying around. I mean it's everywhere. I started picking up a couple pieces, and that turned into 5 bucket loads of quartz. Some of the rocks are huge. I plan to make something with it like a shower wall or hearth around a stove.

Chunks like this just laying on the surface.

I also made a strange discovery while walking through the creek. I noticed the black sand before but didn't think anything of it. Then I accidentally dropped my phone. When I picked it up, that black sand was stuck to the speaker hole. Must be some iron in there.

I'm doing a poll. Which do you think would make the best overland truck? An 89 ford diesel ambulance, A 2001 chevy high roof diesel van, or a chevy 14 foot box truck with a 350 engine and turbo 400 trans? I'm looking to get something that runs and drives right now.

It depends.....

I would go newer personally, and do you want more space or more off road ability? More space=box truck, more off road High top Van.

Good points. I'm thinking box truck because it's also the cheapest. In my parts hoard is a turbo 400 with 205 transfer case and dana 44 front axle. That would bolt right up to the chevy 350 in the box truck.

Getting the box ready for spray foam. Finding all the warts.

All the vertical studs are cracked just below the horizontal stud on the front wall. The curved section looks like different material so I'm assuming the front of the box was damaged, and repaired.

The aluminum box is so much more fragile than the FRP on the Uhaul, but it's also so much lighter.
