re-gearing for 33"s on 1st gen

I agree with the sentiment, I will likely regear when I go in for a posi or locker. Thinking 4:88s since i am running 235/85R16 Toyos. which if i recall correctly translate to about a 32" tire(high 31.XX?)

Mathematically, 31.73”. 4.56’s would be more than enough.

my 04 dcab is 4.88's and 285/75-16s. My 02 4Runner is 4.88's and same size tires.

4Runner was geared when I purchased it. Hindsight being what it is, 5.29's would have been a much better choice for the doublecab. The automatic's OD is extremely tall... do some mathematical comparisons to cruising RPM's between the Auto and the Manual equipped trucks; 5.29's on 33's should put a person to about the same cruising RPM's as the R150/4.10/31" tire equipped stockers....
