ABSODADGUMLUTELY beautiful stretch of hwy

any time of year as long as you are appropriately tyred(winter/summer)

and SO many side roads to explore

if intending to head that way do your best to allow a week or so in the area(not included in going to & from)

and there's a hot spring pool at the north end ;-)

We lived in Montrose way back in the mid-70’s. We’ll be going back for the first time next August. Let’s all hope and pray that the area gets enough snow this year to keep the fires away.

Thanks for the beautiful video. You always do great stuff.

We've taken a few camping trips to the area, most recently last summer, and it's a special place.
My wife and I went this way on our honeymoon, back in the '80s.

Incredible that the (refurbished) sign is still there, outside of Silverton (camera's a much better today).
