Thinking about getting 33's on my next go around of tires for my '97 Tacoma. I have the stock 31's, right now. I am wondering which brands of gears and rebuild kits you guys used and recommend if I need to regear?

Just call ECGS and have them send you diffs - easiest and cheapest way to go.

I have 33's (285/75-16) on my 04 Doublecab with 4.88's. WAY better than running with 4.10's. In hindsight, I'd do 5.29's. The Auto's OD is .7:1... where as the 5-speed is .85:1... big difference in final drive ratio.


As to whether you NEED to regear... that's up to you.
