Does anyone have experience and opinion on this product?

The wife wants to buy two of them for Christmas gifts, but I am trying to
determine if it would be a waste of money ....

First off you can buy that scanner on Amazon cheaper than HSN. Second they are a pain in the *** to use unless you have a very specific application. You can buy an Epson or Canon flat bed compact scanner for about $60 that will work much better for day to day scanning.
