Truck looks good! What part of West TX were you in (looks like you're in VA now)? I lived out there for 5 years.

As a quick spur of the moment trip to the beach comes to a close, plans for a West Virginia Expedition to the Monongahela National Forest area begins! Installed King #700 springs last week, next mods planned for the truck, Skids... and extended SS Brakelines!

I had a softopper but didn't really like it that much. Not enough security. I have a Leer camper shell now and love it.
I hear what you're saying about being able to use the bed. Can't get my dirt bike in there anymore.

That would be my only issue with going with something more permanent. I would do a bed rack/RTT if I had a completed garage that I could pull into, hoist the RTT/rack off of the truck if need be.. Or just keep it in the garage until its time for a trip! This would also decrease the wear from weather constantly beating on the RTT..

Man that white 4runner looks rather capable. Also looks like he might have a lot of cool overland gear but a stock truck.
