Nice looking van. Did you do the conversion yourself?

How are the panels mounted? I would be looking to add an Aluminess rack and move the panels to those.

Hi Schmack, yes I did the conversion myself. There is more info on my website at bridgeboundcampers.com. The van itself has a year of use under its wheels but the camper build is brand new/never used.

The panels are made by Renogy and come with the mounting hardware. Each panel has 4 metal brackets that are screwed into the roof with sheet metal screws. I put some ~4"x4" plywood plates under each bracket in the interior for a little extra something for the screws to bite into. Beneath each bracket I laid down VHB tape for even more strength and water seal. The screws are water sealed with Dicor lap sealant.

The panels were meant to be somewhat permanent, but they'd be very easy to remove if you wanted to. I've got a shop here in Fayetteville, WV and if you were serious about a purchase, I could make the modification and get the Aluminess rack on for you. Another option is to talk to Aluminess about a custom rack that works around the roof fixtures.

Give me a call if you want to talk more.

Thanks,
Mike (804) 357 3805
