Starter on an OM366LA

Gotta Be Nuts
Hey guys, well my minor project of replacing the battery cables has grown a bit. While trying to remove the nut on the starter solenoid to remove the battery cable I have apparently stripped the stud with the nut on it. So, I am guessing my next step is to remove the starter so I can have a shop fix the stud. The question I have before I start in on this is does anyone know if there is clearance to remove the starter without removing the turbo? I am not sure how far froward I would need to slide the starter forward and there is not an enormous amount of room before it would hit the turbo plumbing. I really do not want this, what should be a minor project ending up with engine parts all over the place.

Yes there is clearance without removing turbo or dropping exhaust. There is a metal heat shield beside the turbo that has to come off. you will have to turn and twist like crazy but it does come out.
At leat you are doing it at a shop/home not the side of the road!
