It looks very nice, I like the roof basket! I have a 3.6R on order, so I look forward to seeing what you do with yours.

Just curious, specifically what parts are you waiting for?

Just guessing here, but I imagine it will involve a tire upgrade and under-body skid plates. That's what I plan to do with mine anyway.

tire, lift, skid plates, roof rack extension, arb awning, rear drawer setup, hot water system, bullbar/lightbar, plenty of lighting, and of course a shovel

Can hardly wait for the few feet of snow left to melt so we can get out in the woods again. Hoping to do some shorter adventures close to home base this year, and maybe do a trip to Cape Breton this summer.

Do you think Subaru Outback (2008-2012 models) with manual gearbox would be a good fit for Latin America expeditions, like in Patagonia, Chile, Argentina?
Is it reliable enough to take such a trip?

If it is so, which model would recommend me for this kind of job?

As long as you have all of your maintenance done, why not? Just be mindful of clearance, and keep her cool.

Manual trans is going to pretty much limit you to a base model. Subaru likes to do silly things like that. "Oh? You like leather, sunroof and the McIntosh stereo? But you want to row your own gears? :lol: "
